Affordable Health Insurance Act

It is great that w have reached the 7 million sign up mark, we need this to work, it does not matter what side of the fence you are on, this is here to stay…but most importantly, when will they release the actual numbers of how many of those 7 million have paid and what is the age break down of the sign ups? Without this information we really don’t know if this thing is working or what its going to take to fix it….and this is a very expensive thing to be left in the dark about

Illegal Immigrants rape 14year old girl at 4th of July Party

Horseshoe Bay, TX – Horseshoe Bay Police say a 14-year-old girl was raped by two illegal immigrants at a 4th of July party in south Horseshoe Bay.

The victim told police that she had gone with her cousin to a July 4th party on 39th Street in Horseshoe Bay.

The victim’s 23-year-old cousin left her alone in a room with Anibal Escobar, 19, and Anael Martinez, 22. The two Honduran natives made sexual advances toward the teen and had sexual intercourse with her against her will. The victim’s cousin found her in naked in the bath tub. They both left the party and returned home.
Escobar and Martinez were arrested during the early morning hours of July 9th. They were both charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child Younger than 17, a first degree felony, and transported to the Burnet Detention Facility.

And no doubt they will be sent back to Honduras and that will be the end of that.

Sad

And the June unemployment rates are IN!

The US economy lost 125,000 jobs in June, more than economists had forecast, as thousands of temporary census jobs ended and private hiring grew less than expected.

And though the unemployment rate unexpectedly fell to 9.5% from 9.7%, the lowest in a year, it was largely due to more people dropping out of the labor force.

SO going back to school perhaps? Leaving the country? I dont know but a little more info would be nice?

The report was the latest sign that the economic recovery may be “changing” faltering.

“Overall what this does is it reinforces the market’s view that the U.S. recovery is losing steam,” said Greg Salvaggio, vice president of trading at Tempus Consulting in Washington.

Cop Killer gets Police Escort

Shame.

On Fathers Day the Chief of Dallas Police, son shot and killed another policeman and then gets a police Escort as they thought there were safety issues on the 75 with traffic. Well geez morons, its large freeway that has ALOT of traffic. Perhaps if you ever stepped out of behind the back of your desk you would know that 75 freeway is busy, usually all day everyday.

An apparent last-minute decision by a deputy police chief to provide assistance during part of David Brown Jr.’s funeral procession angered some police associations. The city manager quickly issued a written statement distancing herself and Chief David Brown from the decision.

“This was not a planned event nor a full honor escort,” according to the statement issued late Friday afternoon by Dallas City Manager Mary Suhm. “The action will be fully investigated and may lead to disciplinary action.”

Officers said the assistance included 10 to 12 motorcycles and at least one squad car.

David Brown Jr., who killed Lancaster police Officer Craig Shaw and an innocent bystander June 20 before being shot by other officers, was buried in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery in Dallas.

Well I certainly hope this is one bill that is going to be taken out of certain people’s paychecks and not the tax payer.

TGIF – Women sets office fire to go home early

Well, I’ll admit, I’m about 15minutes away from doing the same thing

Michelle Perrino had a great idea, unfortunetly it looks like she could not keep her mouth shut and let everyone know there was a fire in a filing cabinet room before anyone else knew there was.

Investigators said a friend of Perrino told them she had admitted to tripping the main circuit breaker and adjusting phones to block incoming calls in bids to go home early without sacrificing the day’s pay.

Perrino was sentenced to 9 months imprisonment followed by 5 years of probation. She was also ordered to pay Bayonet Point Oxygen $4,800 in restitution and banned from contacting the company or its employees.

On that note, I guess I’ll work the remainder of the day

Happyy Friday everyone…Dont forget to subscribe to my blog and thanks for all your support! Comments welcome

Obama plays Golf during the Gulf Oil Spill oh and a Baseball Game as well

WASHINGTON – A White House spokesman says the whole country benefits when President Barack Obama takes time to go golfing and “clear his mind.”
Obama spokesman Bill Burton on Monday defended Obama’s leisure activities amid some Republican criticism that Obama should not be scheduling fun time during the Gulf oil spill crisis. The president went golfing on Saturday afternoon after attending a baseball game Friday night.

Burton said the people of the country stand by the notion that “their president ought to have a little time to clear his mind.” He said Obama relaxed after a week in which he got help for victims of the oil spill and traveled to Ohio to speak on the economy, among other work. Burton said that having time to himself “probably does us all good.”

Im sure it does do us all good, but I’m not the commander in chief nor did I decide to run for the President of the United States
Afterall, I was not the one that told voters in November 2007 that in the wake of President Bush’s “catastrophic failure of leadership” the nation needs a candid leader like himself (Obama)

Deepwater Drilling to go on in the Gulf.

A New Orleans federal judge lifted the six-month moratorium on deepwater drilling imposed by President Barack Obama following the largest oil spill in U.S. history. Drilling services shares jumped on the news. Obama temporarily halted all drilling in waters deeper than 500 feet on May 27 to give a presidential commission time to study improvements in the safety of offshore operations. More than a dozen Louisiana offshore service and supply companies sued U.S. regulators to lift the ban. The U.S. said it will appeal the decision.

U.S. District Judge Martin Feldman today granted a preliminary injunction, halting the moratorium. He also “immediately prohibited” the U.S. from enforcing the ban. Government lawyers told Feldman that ban was based on findings in a U.S. report following the sinking of the Deepwater Horizon rig off the Louisiana coast in April.

“The court is unable to divine or fathom a relationship between the findings and the immense scope of the moratorium,” Feldman said in his 22-page decision. “The blanket moratorium, with no parameters, seems to assume that because one rig failed and although no one yet fully knows why, all companies and rigs drilling new wells over 500 feet also universally present an imminent danger.”

Considering the country is seeing one of its largest unemployment rates and the Gulf is still in recovery mode after Katrina etc, this is a sensible idea.

We should focus on stopping the leak and then worry about what caused it, but the fact of the matter is, we may never know what caused it. No one would dare mention that perhaps it was human error and now that Human is no longer with us to tell us the story and there is no black box to find that will give us the answers.
