Who’s to blame…the rock music or Bush for Al and Tipper Gores seperation?

According to CNN – Former Vice President Al Gore and his wife, Tipper, have sent an e-mail to family friends announcing a mutual decision to separate, a longtime family friend told CNN.

“We are announcing today that after a great deal of thought and discussion, we have decided to separate,” the message said.

“This is very much a mutual and mutually supportive decision that we have made together following a process of long and careful consideration. We ask for respect for our privacy and that of our family, and we do not intend to comment further.”

Gore spokeswoman Kalee Kreider confirmed the authenticity of the e-mail but decline to comment further.

The couple, married for 40 years, has four grown children.

Google Buzz…whats it all about?

I’m not the most tech savvy out there and Google Buzz popped up on my Gmail today…so whats it about you say?

Well, I have no idea, but luckily some people out there do and it seems pretty cool

Supposedly, the thing about Buzz is that it adjusts what posts you see, based on where you are, based on the GPS coordinates of the phone you just logged in on.

“And that’s where your smartphone comes in. If you log onto Google Buzz, the company will find you via your GPS, translate that from lat-long coordinates into English , “I’m outside Waldorf-Astoria,” and use that for all sorts of services. Your friends can now see where you are and hook up for a chance meeting (one of the attractions of services like Foursquare). If you’re looking for a good nearby restaurant, Google Buzz will let you scan all the public posts about establishments in your area. You can even navigate this visually, placing yourself on Google Maps and scanning a universe of public comments about anything posted in your immediate vicinity.”

And google takes another square on earth…

“I’ve got a Baby Momma”. Edwards admits what we have known all along

John edwards has finally admitted that he is indeed the father of a 2-year-old daughter conceived with Rielle Hunter, a campaign videographer with whom he had an affair.

In a written statement, he writes:

“I am Quinn’s father. I will do everything in my power to provide her with the love and support she deserves. I have been able to spend time with her during the past year and trust that future efforts to show her the love and affection she deserves can be done privately and in peace.

It was wrong for me ever to deny she was my daughter and hopefully one day, when she understands, she will forgive me. I have been providing financial support for Quinn and have reached an agreement with her mother to continue providing support in the future.

To all those I have disappointed and hurt these words will never be enough, but I am truly sorry.”

Edwards is not speaking publicly today, at least in part because of an ongoing federal investigation into whether campaign money was used to try to cover up the affair. He has denied wrongdoing.

Edwards’ admission today also indicates that his relationship with Hunter continued months after his wife announced that her cancer had returned and that it was incurable.

Keep your peen in your pants men, a baby might not be the only thing you end up with

Another Climate Change Blunder…Himalayan glaciers & 2035

Why am I not surprised. Blah, Blah, Global Warming, Blah, Blah ~ That’s all it is I’ve been saying for years that we have little information on global warming and the effects of the environment, remember they once thought the world was flat for years and years.

A WARNING that climate change will melt most of the Himalayan glaciers by 2035 is likely to be retracted after a series of scientific blunders by the United Nations body that issued it.

Two years ago the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) issued a benchmark report that was claimed to incorporate the latest and most detailed research into the impact of global warming. A central claim was the world’s glaciers were melting so fast that those in the Himalayas could vanish by 2035. In the past few days the scientists behind the warning have admitted that it was based on a news story in the New Scientist, a popular science journal, published eight years before the IPCC’s 2007 report.

A news story?? They based it on a news story??

It has also emerged that the New Scientist report was itself based on a short telephone interview with Syed Hasnain, a little-known Indian scientist then based at Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi.

Hasnain has since admitted that the claim was “speculation” and was not supported by any formal research.

Somewhere across town Danny Glover is having a prozac melt down.

It’s WAR! Video stores, union reps rally against buck-a-night DVD kiosks

Listen up Hollywood, I love my redbox, I dispise the video store, oh wait, what video store, I have one choice, its called Blockbuster and frankly Blockbuster makes me want pull my hair and nails out.

Video Business reports that the Video Buyers Group, a trade organization for some 1,700 independent brick-and-mortar video stores, is prepping an ad campaign that’ll paint Redbox as a threat to the film industry as we know it. Why? Because its $1-a-night rental rate is “generating less revenue” for Hollywood studios than the $3-$5/night prices charged by the average video store, according to Video Business.

Its safe to assume that Video Buyers Group will not make it to the Christmas Card list this year

So, why all the fuss? Simple: Hollywood execs (who are already alarmed by sinking DVD sales) are furious that Redbox would dare rent the latest DVDs for just a buck a night, a price that is “grossly undervaluing” their hottest new movies, while struggling mom-and-pop video stores are fretting that DVD kiosks and their cheap rental policies are undercutting their own rental prices.

I’m not too much of a smart cookie, but I’m guessing without the over priced rent, signage, employees etc, thats where they are mostly saving the $2 per movie.

Well Hollywood, the land that gives me Lindsey Lohan, Paris Hilton and Jon minus Kate plus 8, I’m not going to take this one bent over, I put up with all the crap you throw at me, at least you can do is give me DVD for a cheap price to make the numbing pain you throw my way a little more bearable.

I think you are sorely mistaken, its not redbox distroying the industry its the over inflated egos and paychecks

New Jersey teacher accepts cash for grades

I did enjoy in the guilty pleasure of the “Housewives from New Jersey”, so you can imagine I found this story a little on the juicy side…and not entirely surprising, given the fact of the characters that now sell New Jersey

A new Jersey teacher told the students she would accept ca$h for grades and then give the money to charities, but instead she kept the moolah to her self.

Before you start throwing stones at the teacher, remember teacher salaries are not that great. It costs a lot of money to look like a Jersey girl

Study: Heavy drinkers exercise more than non drinkers

The University of Miami has completed a research that I believe was a very good allocation of university funds and I now I have and huge crush on Sebastian, the hurricanes mascot.

Researchers found that those who reported drinking more alcohol were also more likely to report exercising regularly

Women who reported drinking more than 105 45 drinks in the past month — a behavior that pushed them into the category of fun loving, well balanced alcoholics“heavy drinkers” — exercised 14 more minutes per week on average than those light drinkers who drank one to 14 drinks in the month.

One to 14 drinks per week is a little dissapointing in itself

The results were similar for men, with heavy drinkers — those who threw back 75 drinks per month — exercising 21 minutes more per week than light drinkers who only consumed one to 29 drinks per month and 23 minutes more than abstainers

Drink Up!
