Cop Killer gets Police Escort

Shame.

On Fathers Day the Chief of Dallas Police, son shot and killed another policeman and then gets a police Escort as they thought there were safety issues on the 75 with traffic. Well geez morons, its large freeway that has ALOT of traffic. Perhaps if you ever stepped out of behind the back of your desk you would know that 75 freeway is busy, usually all day everyday.

An apparent last-minute decision by a deputy police chief to provide assistance during part of David Brown Jr.’s funeral procession angered some police associations. The city manager quickly issued a written statement distancing herself and Chief David Brown from the decision.

“This was not a planned event nor a full honor escort,” according to the statement issued late Friday afternoon by Dallas City Manager Mary Suhm. “The action will be fully investigated and may lead to disciplinary action.”

Officers said the assistance included 10 to 12 motorcycles and at least one squad car.

David Brown Jr., who killed Lancaster police Officer Craig Shaw and an innocent bystander June 20 before being shot by other officers, was buried in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery in Dallas.

Well I certainly hope this is one bill that is going to be taken out of certain people’s paychecks and not the tax payer.

Deepwater Drilling to go on in the Gulf.

A New Orleans federal judge lifted the six-month moratorium on deepwater drilling imposed by President Barack Obama following the largest oil spill in U.S. history. Drilling services shares jumped on the news. Obama temporarily halted all drilling in waters deeper than 500 feet on May 27 to give a presidential commission time to study improvements in the safety of offshore operations. More than a dozen Louisiana offshore service and supply companies sued U.S. regulators to lift the ban. The U.S. said it will appeal the decision.

U.S. District Judge Martin Feldman today granted a preliminary injunction, halting the moratorium. He also “immediately prohibited” the U.S. from enforcing the ban. Government lawyers told Feldman that ban was based on findings in a U.S. report following the sinking of the Deepwater Horizon rig off the Louisiana coast in April.

“The court is unable to divine or fathom a relationship between the findings and the immense scope of the moratorium,” Feldman said in his 22-page decision. “The blanket moratorium, with no parameters, seems to assume that because one rig failed and although no one yet fully knows why, all companies and rigs drilling new wells over 500 feet also universally present an imminent danger.”

Considering the country is seeing one of its largest unemployment rates and the Gulf is still in recovery mode after Katrina etc, this is a sensible idea.

We should focus on stopping the leak and then worry about what caused it, but the fact of the matter is, we may never know what caused it. No one would dare mention that perhaps it was human error and now that Human is no longer with us to tell us the story and there is no black box to find that will give us the answers.

Joe Biden’s mother passes away

Sad.

Vice President Joe Biden’s mother, 92-year-old Jean Biden, died Friday, according to the White House.

Vice President Biden’s statement, as released by the White House:

THE WHITE HOUSE

Office of the Vice President

For Immediate Release

January 8, 2010

Statement from Vice President Joe Biden

“My mother, Catherine Eugenia “Jean” Finnegan Biden, passed away peacefully today at our home in Wilmington, Delaware, surrounded by her children, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren and many loved ones. At 92, she was the center of our family and taught all of her children that family is to be treasured, loyalty is paramount and faith will guide you through the tough times. She believed in us, and because of that, we believed in ourselves. Together with my father, her husband of 61 years who passed away in 2002, we learned the dignity of hard work and that you are defined by your sense of honor. Her strength, which was immeasurable, will live on in all of us.”

Thoughts and prayers with the Biden family at this time

Jobless rate over 10%…highest in over 16 years

I understand the events that happened at Ft Hood, are devestating and will be disected by the media over the next week, I think its important not too lose focus on other events inside the U.S, and to bring to light that the unemployment rate has surpassed 10 percent for the first time since 1983 — and is likely to go higher.

Nearly 16 million people can’t find jobs even though the worst recession since the Great Depression has apparently ended according to congress.

Many economists worry that persistently high unemployment could undermine the recovery by restraining consumer spending, which accounts for 70 percent of the economy.

The good news, we are going to into the holiday season which still usually means big bucks for retailers, unfortunelty with the economy it will most likely lead to a higher crime rate as well ie:Theft.

While the unemployment rate hasn’t yet topped the post-World War II high of 10.8 percent set in December 1982, many experts say this recession is worse.

The unemployment rate was much lower when the recession began — 4.9 percent in December 2007, compared with 7.2 percent in July 1981, when a brutal downturn started. That means the current job cuts have been much steeper to get to the 10 percent mark.

Gang Rapes…in the U.S and Australia this month

The campus incident in the Bay Area city north of Oakland has made national news in the gang rape of a 15 year old girl and everyone has questioned how, why, who on earth would do this and also…well what about the bystanders?

The same this happened recently over the other side of the world, on a holiday weekend in Australia earlier this month Victoria police were called to the rented house that players from a local Football Club under 19s had hired for four days of porn, booze and parties.
During the alcohol fueled long weekend, police were called to the house to investigate hoon driving and vandalism before the alleged rapes.

Police said one of the women at the centre of the allegations had claimed she was barricaded in a room and sexually assaulted by five youths for two hours as others watched from an outside balcony.

But she later withdrew her complaint.

The other woman has not dropped her complaint.

It can also be revealed the woman who withdrew her complaint has been communicating via text with one of the men who was in the house on the night, but did not participate in the alleged rape.

Sad. I’m not exactly too sure what on earth people think is right with hurting another human physically or mentally, but it is pathetic. What sad excuses for human beings. Hope none of the boys from either side of the world get another free day again and get to be someones little bitch in prison.

Crime needs to be tougher and parents need to make sure children understand that this is unacceptable, they also need to stop breeding.

Bombing in Iraq

The death toll from twin car bombings in Baghdad climbed to 160, with at least 540 people more wounded in the deadliest attack in the capital in more than two years, the Interior Ministry said Monday.

Among the wounded were three American security contractors, the U.S. Embassy said, declining to provide further details. The area struck is close to the heavily guarded “green zone,” which houses the embassy.

Let’s hope the Iraqi’s can come out of this and fight for the freedom they deserve.

Anti-abortion activist shot in front of High School, another close by

This morning a anti-abortion activist was protesting in front of a school when they were shot and killed. The shooting happened around the time when most students were in class and the suspect has been taken into custody. Another man around the corner was also shot and killed, the police suspect the same man did it. He is in custody and has been charged

It does not matter what side of the fence you are on, both sides have a right to protest, safely. Protestors have a right to protest and must always be mindful of others who are for them and against them but also for the passerbys around them that dont want to be inconvienced no matter how much you think everyone should care about your cause.

So sad.

News outlets could be lost in California fires.

Mt Wilson. The home of many communication outlets is in the path of the wild fires that are growing out of control in California.

Someone tell the Jackson family and Speidi immediatly that this is happening, I would hate to see the emotional distress it would give them to know that they have no media outlet to talk to. Get to Vegas quickly!
